Keeping it Real {Sunday}

As I was pondering (yes, I ponder sometimes before I open my mouth!) about what to say for this Keeping it Real post, I couldn't hardly come up with a thing.  Nothin!!  My mind was blank.

But then I had an epiphany (what is that?), "I could give my readers a look into my family.  Are you even interested?  I have 3 kids.  My daughter is 17, my son is 15 and my little girl is 10.  They are growing so dang fast.  I can't believe I will be loosing one this Fall.  It frightens me.  Seriously.

But I digress....I am not going to tell you about my 17 yr. old today.  I want to tell you about my 15 yr. old.  He is SO. DANG. CUTE.  I just love him.  Of course I do, he is my son.  But he is REALLY a good kid.  No Kidding.

Here is a look at him.  I took this picture about a week ago:

 Yep, this is my little Eagle Scout.
I am such a proud Momma.

I have to be honest here.  I really didn't have much to do with the fact that he earned his Eagle.  His Dad helped him A LOT.  I helped him a teensy weensy bit.

I kind of feel foolish.

The Mom's are supposed to be the ones to push their boys, right?  Well I am here to tell you I did not.  He wanted it and at times needed pushing and his Dad mostly did it.  No I get all the credit at the Eagle Court of Honor.  I think I am going to stand up and say,  "Umm, his Dad is the one that should get all the credit!"

I don't know if I really have the guts to do that, but I am going to feel a little guilty.  Too late now.  I AM planning the Court of Honor.  I ordered the invitations, took the picture, I will also make a scrapbook for him, and order a cake from Costco.  That's something, right?

Sorry if I am rattling on a little too much about this.  Can you tell I like to torture myself with guilty feelings?

I am so proud of this young man.  He is such a good kid.  All my kids are.  I don't know what I did to deserve them, because I was the child from H- - -.  No kidding.  I put my parents through the fiery furnace.  But I think I turned out pretty good.

I love my kiddos, and I just wanted to share a little about them.  Here is a nice picture of this same son when he was a little guy:

I love this guy!  Isn't he the cutest?  I wish I could show you a picture of when he was a baby, but I would have to scan the pictures, because you know that was before digital cameras!  Oh, I feel old:)

Have a great Sunday!!

  3. You shouldn't feel foolish, there's a lot more involved in becoming an Eagle Scout than passing off merit badges. You had a big role in raising him to be the nice young man that he is. :) What a great kid!
