Summer Polka Dot Canvas

I am REALLY ready for Summer here in RAINY Oregon!  Today it seems like the rain will never stop.  At least it makes everything Green, right?

Remember this canvas I won from Blooming Words?
I love it, but it took me forever to figure out what to do with it!  Well, here is what I did:
First, I found all these cute little chipboard letters, flowers, hearts, mushrooms, etc. hidden in a drawer down in my craft room cave (the room that is supposed to be my 17 yr old daughter's!).  I laid them out on the canvas to see what they would look like.
Then, I found some adorable huge apple green ric rack in my ribbon stash.  I made a sweet little flower with it.
Next, I glued on the chipboard letters, and ric rack flower.
I decided to add some of the green ric rack to the bottom.  I glued the edges and in the center.  I have some pictures I want to stick in there!
I just slipped the pictures under the ric rack.  Now I can switch out the pictures throughout the Summer!  Yay:)
Here's a close up. I also added a chipboard strawberry, flower and mushroom on the ric rack.
Cute, huh?  I think it's a tad bit busy, but oh well, I'm a BUSY person:)

Easter Subway Art on a Canvas Tutorial

I don't have school on Fridays (yay!), so I got in the crafting mood!  I had ordered some Subway art from Simple Crafts a few weeks ago.  Today I finally used it.  I had bought a 12x12 canvas from JoAnn's a week or so ago (about $4).

I watered down some orange paint (Tangerine), and painted the canvas.
I let it dry for about 1/2 hour, while I ate a yummy smoothie with chips and salsa, and a tiny bit of homemade Chicken Noodle soup!
I laid the vinyl over the canvas to make sure everything fit ok.
Here is what it looked like when I finished!
See those cute little rattan balls?  I will post about those in a few days!

So Lucky Canvas St. Patrick's day decor

I don't do much decorating when it comes to St. Patrick's day.  I don't mind the holiday, but just haven't felt the need to decorate....until this year!  I love all the ideas I am seeing from all you talented ladies.

The other day I showed you a little peek of what I made on Saturday.  I love love how it turned out!
Whatcha think???  I was trying to think how to embellish it, so the shamrock is burlap with a ribbon rosette in the center.  Of course I had to add a few buttons in the middle!  I love BUTTONS.  They look cute with just about anything:)

I was nervous about cutting this picture down, but I think it looks fabulous, after all I am sooooo lucky to have my family!  When I showed it to the hubs he said, "Thats really nice."  Good answer honey!
Sorry, no tutorial, but it was super easy.  I painted the white canvas ($3) with leaf green paint (let it dry for about 1 hr.), mod podged the scrapbook paper on, let it dry for about 2 hrs.  Then I cut the "so lucky" out with the cricut using the Storybook cartridge.  Next, I googled shamrock images and found a shamrock template to print out.  I traced it on some burlap, cut it out and hot glued it on the canvas.  I also hot glued the rosette on the shamrock.  Lastly, I added the buttons and my cute family picture and DONE!

I am still doing a giveaway later this week!  I am giving away some lovely EASTER goodies:)

Tiffany was so sweet and I love the loot I won!  Take a peek:
Isn't that just the cutest Subway Art you have ever seen?  I was so giddy with excitement when I opened the package!  I love all the words she chose, especially the "Pucker up Buttercup!"  LOVE IT-
I also got this really cool 12 x12 canvas with red polka dot vinyl on it.  Then separately I received the pair kissing birds.  But my problem is I don't know what to do with them.  I am having a crafty brain block!
I need the help of all my talented bloggy friends!!  I don't know what to do with this canvas and the love birds!  I love both of them, but there has got to be something cute I can do with them!! Help:)  I could use all your crafty ideas.....PLEASE!
If you send me a great idea and I use it, I will send you a few goodies!!  I really will:)  I can't wait to see what suggestions I get.  I'll be waiting patiently....
