Santa Snack Mix - Neighbor and Teacher Gifts

******If you are looking for the uVinyl Giveaway, click HERE and enter!  Hurry, Giveaway ends December 17th @ Midnight!!  UPDATE:  Giveaway will be extended to Monday Dec. 20th @ Midnight!!

Today it just hit me, I need to start getting my Teacher gifts all wrapped up and figure out what I am going to make for neighbors, friends, etc.

I get kinda tired of making cookies and candies every year.  I don't like cleaning up the mess, and it makes me cranky!  So this year I am making SANTA SNACK MIX for all my friends, neighbors and the teachers too!

Here is all my ingredients all over the counter!  Doesn't it look yummy??  Luckily I had just eaten (TONS of muddy buddies), so I was not the least bit tempted to eat that bag of peanut M & M's.  Like my Keep Calm and Jingle On printable in the background?

Here is my first batch.  I think I can honestly say I crave everything in this bowl!

Here is everything all wrapped up nice and cute!  I ran out of some of the ribbon, and I wanted to use what I had, that's why there are a variety of packaging.

I packaged the snack mix in those Rubbermaid Take alongs.  I got them at the Dollar Tree.  You get 2 for a dollar, YAY!  I also bought my rolls of cellophane and the ribbon at the Dollar Tree.

Does this stuff look familiar??  I made these for my kids teachers.  The sticky note holder idea I found HERE.  The cute little paint stick ornament I found HERE I absolutely ADORE both of these blogs!  You have to fully explore them and you will get inspired to CRAFT!

If you would like, here is the yummy recipe for the SANTA SNACK MIX:

1 box of Sugar Pops cereal (I got large ones)

2lbs Peanut M&M's

1lb Salted Nuts (I used lightly salted dry roasted)

2lbs Plain M&M's

1 small pkg of Raisins (I used about 8oz.)

3 small pkgs of Cracker Jacks (the prizes are SO lame)

Mix everything together and eat until you are in a Sugar Induced Coma.
This is soooo yummy!  I can't wait to give it to my friends and neighbors (and get it out of my house!).

Have a great week before Christmas!

I am listening to my Amy Grant Christmas CD right now.  I love it....

GIVEAWAY: $25 Gift Certificate to UVINYL.com

I am so excited to be hosting this Giveaway! Susannah from uVinyl.com is giving away a $25 Gift certificate to her store! She also has an ETSY store. Here are some examples of what you could buy with the certificate:

uVinyl has so many cool vinyl decals on her website! There are soooo many awesome possibilities.

I have received some vinyl from uVinyl and I LOVED it! Susannah was so nice and willing to do whatever I wanted! I was really excited about what she sent me. Here is what I made with it:
I absolutely love it!  I have seen many of these out in Blog land and she did such a great job on mine!  Thanks Susannah!!

Here is a little information about Susannah and how she got started with her business uVinyl:
"Within 1 year I have gotten married, moved twice, quit my job, and
started a business. The inspiration for this business came from my
sister-- a crafty stay-at-home wife and mother of three.  She loves to
decorate and loves her children, but can't afford and doesn't have the
time to re-decorate for every new phase she or they go through.  Vinyl
is a material that can be inexpensive, last as long as you decide, is
personalize-able, attaches to any hard surface with no surface damage,
and looks absolutely beautiful. Now women like my sister can decorate
however they wish! I truly believe that decorating is not a
priviledge, it's a right! Everyone deserves to be surrounded by what
they love, so empower your inner designer!"

This is one of my favorite's from her shop!  I love OWLS!

It has been so much fun getting to know Susannah and I can't wait to see who wins the certificate!

So here are the details for the Giveaway:
There are several ways to enter the giveaway. Please make a separate comment for each entry.

Let it SNOW! Picture Frame {Tutorial} repost

Today I am home sick from church.  I want to craft, but since I am feeling kinda crappy, I will show you one from last year.  I hardly had ANY followers last year, so I figure you probably haven't seen it:)

This Picture Frame craft was so EASY and CHEAP!  I don't mean cheap looking, just inexpensive....

Here is what I did:

I went to Joann's and bought a 5 x7 frame for 60% off, but you probably have one laying around your house, or you could buy one at goodwill.  That's what I usually do, but I was at Joann's and Yea, I gave in to the sale.  It cost me like $5.99.

Then I went to the gift wrap section and bought a cheap Christmas gift bag.  I think it was 60% off too!  It cost me like 1.29 or something.

I went home, cut out a 5 x 7 piece of the gift bag and put it in the frame.

Now for the next step, you could do several things!  I have a Cricut, so I cut out the "Let it Snow."  You could use rub ons, cut out letters with cardstock and glue them on....there are so many possibilities!  I put my vinyl on the outside of the glass.  SOOOO EASY!

This cost me about $7.50, not counting the vinyl.  I already had it.  Not bad, huh?  This would be a great gift too!

I am putting this on my mantle.  I'm wishing for SNOW......

Guest Post- Erin from Crafts and Sutch!!

Hello Pocket Full of Pink Readers!  I'm Erin from Crafts & Sutch and I'm so very happy to spend some time with you today!

I love all things crafty and have been diagnosed with "I can make that"  syndrome. I am constantly inspired by the things I see, so I like to  create a little bit of everything. :) Today we are getting into the holiday spirit and making some sweater trees!

To get started, you will need a paper mache or Styrofoam tree form, an old sweater, scissors, a glue gun and glue, straight pins, and a pencil or pen.

Lay the tree form down on the sleeve of the sweater with the top of the tree at the wrist end of the sweater.  Cut across the sleeve approximately 1" below the end of the tree.

Put the tree into the sleeve and create a slip cover for it by pinning down the length of the tree.  The sweater should be snug, but not tight.

Now fold the end of the sweater under the form and glue with the glue gun.

Remove the excess sweater by cutting along the inside of your pins.

It will look like this.  Take the pencil or pen and draw a straight guideline for yourself down the length of the tree.  This is where you will glue the sweater together.

Glue the sweater along the guideline.  Create a neat seam by pushing each side together.

This is what the back of the tree will look like after you have glued the sweater in place.

And here is the finished product...along with a friend!  I am loving how these turned out.  They were super easy to make, quick, and affordable!

Thank you so much for letting me hang out with you today and thank you to Karen for having me!  I hope you all will stop by Crafts & Sutch sometime and say hi! :)

Scrapbook paper Ball Ornament Tutorial

If you have been a follower of my blog since day one, you may have already seen this, but I thought I would repost it, since many of you haven't seen it! I have also changed a few things as well.  My first tutorials were a bit unorganized!

This is one of the easiest Christmas gifts I have made!  I love these. I hope you do too!

Here is what you'll need:
- plain glass or plastic ball ornaments (seems like these are on sale at every craft store right now!)

-scrap paper (I used scrapbook paper) and cut them into long thin strips )about 2 x 6 inches.  Use lots of different coordinating designs and colors.  Have fun with this!

-ribbon

-pencil

Take a strip of paper and roll it onto a pencil until it is nice tightly rolled.  Repeat this until you have rolled enough to fit snuggly in the ornament.

Now take the top of your ornament off, and stick the paper inside the hole at the top. You have to roll the paper really tight to get it in there, but it will loosen up once it gets in. It is fun to use lots of different paper, that coordinates, but you can pretty much use any colors. I usually use about 6 or 8 strips of paper. Use enough to fill up most of the inside of the ornament.

Next, put the top of the ornament back on, and tie some cute ribbon onto the top where there is a loop for hanging. I put 2 or three different colors of ribbon.

I love these ornaments and think they are so adorable! They are a great gift. You can personalize them for someone special, by using their favorite colors, favorite sports scrapbook paper, holidays, etc. The possibilities are endless! I hope you will try this out and let me know how it went.

As always, I appreciate your comments and if you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me: kweight@byu.net
