Home is Where your Story Begins Blocks

How has your Summer been?  I am so enjoying mine, although I wish I could be crafting more!!

I had a wedding reception to go to last month and I needed a gift to give the happy couple.  I ordered this kit from Thoughts in Vinyl and I love how it turned out!

Forgive my lousy pictures!  I am having problems using PicMonkey on my computer.  My husband is a computer engineer and he loves changing stuff on our computer, so hence all my Blog problems!

The couple I gave this too had both been married before and have 8 children between them!  I figured they probably had just about everything they need, but anyone can use more room decor, right?  I think they are going to like this!!

I found the wood in my garage leftover from some other crafts.  I painted the wood black, then sanded the edges...done!  This gift cost me about $8!  Awesome wedding gift.

Have you ever ordered from Thoughts in Vinyl?  You should go check them out.  They have so many kits to choose from!

Right now they are having a Summer sale.  25% off your order!!  The shipping is very reasonable as well!

Blueberry Cobbler

I love this time of year!  July means Blueberries.  My kids and I go over to my parents house and pick Blueberries:)  They are so yummy in cereal, smoothies, and I LOVE them in this cobbler.

This recipe is so easy and tastes great!

Add a dollop of Vanilla ice cream and you've got a fabulous dessert!

This is what we are having for dessert tonight when my family comes over!

I am having a hard time with pictures today loading on my blog, so this is the only one for today.

Here is the yummy recipe:

Blueberry Cobbler
4 c. Blueberries (for a 9 x 13 pan)
3 1/2 c. (for a 8 x 11 pan)
Mix:
2 tsp. Lemon Juice
1/4-1/2 tsp. Almond Extract
1/3 c. water
then add berries

Mix:
1 c.  Sugar
1/4 c. flour
Mix with Blueberries

Topping:
Melt 1 cube of butter.  Add a white cake mix (the mix only).
Crumble on top of blueberry mixture.
Sprinkle with Sugar.

Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes.  Cover with foil when top is Golden Brown.

Enjoy!!

PS. I have a stupid question.  How do I put recipes on my blog and make them so people can print them out?  I hate when I go to blogs and I have to cut and paste recipes.  If you have any ideas, please let me know!!

FAMILY blocks decor

I admit it.

I have an addiction to vinyl lettering!  I love how easy it is to apply and how easy it is to make a FABULOUS craft with it.  A few days ago I made these blocks for my living room.

I used my FooFaLa paper for these blocks.  Super fun and pretty!!

It fits perfect on my shelf!

-I started by painting the blocks with Light Ivory.

-Next I cut the paper the size of each block and adhered it with Mod Podge.

When the Mod Podge was dry, I sanded the paper around the edges to get a smooth finish and to make sure the paper stuck well.

-Then I adhered the vinyl!

-FINISHED!

I love using a line of coordinating paper.  I always wonder if the paper matches, but when you use a coordinating line, you can't go wrong!

Hope your having a great week:)
