Be Thankful Banner Bunting

**** If you would like to guest post on my blog, I would love to have you!  I am looking for Guest bloggers for November and December and there are still openings!  I would be happy to swap as well:)  Shoot me an e-mail if your interested:  kweight@byu.net.

I wanted to share this banner with you last year, but I must have forgotten.  This is one of my favorite banners I have made so far.

I used Bo Bunny's Kitchen Spice paper for this banner.  I love all the Autumn Colors in this paper!  So pretty:)

I didn't write a tutorial for this, because it's so easy and I am sure you could do this blindfolded, but I will tell you what I did!

I used my Cricut to cut out the letters, then cut out 2 different sized of Triangles, glued them together, glued on the letters, punched holes in the sides of the triangles and added some buttons for embellishments.  I strung the triangles with some Autumn ribbon, then Poof!! it's finished.

Doesn't take long at all to make one of these babies.  I love the way it looks with my Autumn blocks, don't you?

Have a great night.  I can't wait to show you my Gratitude wall hanging later this week:)

Today's Guest: Lil' Luna

Hi there!

My name is Kristyn, and I blog over at Lil' Luna!

I like to blog about all things good -
recipes, tutorials, crafts, tips, deals - you name it!

Right now I have The Great Pumpkin Series going on right now where all sorts of bloggers are showing you some Pumpkin Goodness. Come on over and check it out!

I don't know about all of you, but I LOVE this time of year.
I LIVE for the holidays.
Seriously - they make me giddy!

Well, as I was busting out some Holiday Decor I realized I needed to make a simple but fun bunting banner to hang from my entertainment center for Halloween. This is what I came up with.

So easy and fun!
Here is how you do it...

SUPPLIES:
-Scrapbook Paper
-Cardstock
-Ink Pad
-Sewing machine
-Glue Stick
-Hole Punch
-Ribbon/Tulle

DIRECTIONS:

1. Begin by deciding what shape you want your banner. I thought half circles would be great and just traced half a bowl for my scrapbook paper pattern. I also traced a slightly larger bowl for the cardstock pattern. Trace and cut out for your scrapbook paper and cardstock.

2. For an added vintage touch, distress the edges of your paper with a stamp pad.

3. You will then glue your scrapbook papers to their coordinating cardstock paper.

4. From there, sew a zig-zag stitch all the end of your scrapbook paper.

5. Hole punch the top sides of each half-circle, string with ribbon or tulle and hang. :)

What's great about this is I want to hang the banner all year long and have made papers that match my room decor. I'm also planning on making some red and green half-circles for when Christmas hits and will probably do the same for the other holidays. :)

I hope you like it!

Be sure to come on over to Lil' Luna and say hi! I'd love to have you!

St. Patrick's Day Favorites

I don't usually decorate much for St. Paddy's day.  I am not sure why.  It's a fun holiday.  This year I am determined to try some new St. Patrick's day crafts and start some kind of traditions with my family!  Here are some fun crafts I found to help celebrate the Green holiday!
When I saw this banner on the Fiskars site, I just about drooled on my keyboard!  It is so pretty and isn't your typical Green St. Paddy's day decoration.  You could leave it up all Spring!
Don't these look DIVINE?  I love the bright colors!  The colors of the rainbow:) I found this on Family Fun.  My kids would love these!!

Here is a cute craft that looks super easy to make!  I found these on Thoughts in Vinyl.  You can order the kit!  How easy is that!!

Craft on....

Be Thankful Banner made with cardboard!

I have seen so many cute banners out there in blog land!  I decided to try and  create my own.  Here is what I came up with:

Here is a close-up.  I used a Costco sized fruit snack box for the backing!
I cut out the letters with my Cricut machine.  I cut out the cardboard triangles with my hefty paper cutter (not my scrapbook one!)
Don't ya love my fun pumpkins and my "Fall" plaque too?

Have a great Sunday!
