So Pretty in Pink Cuff Bracelet

I LOVE, LOVE these handmade cuff bracelets I have seen out there in blog land lately.  One of my favorites was an Antho knock off by Bev on her blog, Flamingo Toes .  She did a fabulous job!  She is my inspiration for this cuff bracelet I made the other day.

I came up with my own version of this bracelet.  I started with a blank metal cuff bracelet that I got at Michaels with my 40% off coupon.  Here is what I ended up with:
I adore pink!  I have plenty of outfits this will match with.  I am soooo excited to wear it:)  I just used what I had on hand, ribbon, pearl beads, buttons, rick rack, a small cameo, metal key, etc.

The ribbon I wrapped around the bracelet looks brown in this picture, but it is really a cream color.
I am lovin' my new Cuff bracelet!

What do you think??  What would you wear it with?

Little Girls Mini Monogrammed Clipboard

Be sure and enter the Scrapbook eye Candy Giveaway!  Click here to enter.  Ends April 24th!

I made this the other day for my 9 year old daughter and she loved it!  It was very inexpensive and very easy.  Here are the supplies you will need:

-1 mini clipboard (got mine at Dollar Tree)
-Monogrammed packing tape (dollar bins at Michaels, or duck tape would work too!)
-Ribbon (I got the houndstooth at Michael's, because I am addicted:)
-Button

That's all you need!  It cost about 3 dollars to make and you will have a ton of tape and ribbon leftover to do at least 2 more!

Here is what the clipboard and tape looks like.  The tape is kinda like packing tape, but a little thinner.  I just measured the width of the clipboard and put it on, smoothing it down as I went.  I did that all the way up the clipboard.

Here's a close up of what the tape looks like.
I didn't paint my clipboard first, because I wanted to make sure the black letters were really noticeable.
When you get towards the top of the clipboard you have to cut smaller pieces of the tape to fit around the clip.  I had a little gap on the bottom, so I just glued a piece of ribbon there.  Once you tie all the ribbons on the clip, you don't eve notice the gap!  Fill up the whole clip with ribbon.  I just tied them in square knots.
Note:  I cut the ribbons in half length wise, so they would be easier to tie around the clip.  You can use your extra ribbon strips for the flower petals!

I used some of my extra ribbon strips to make a cute little flower!  Just fold each strip, glue the ends together, then glue it down on the bottom corner of the clipboard.

Please ignore my ugly well used glue gun!  I use it A LOT.
Add a button to the center of the flower.  Done!
So fun!  My daughter was soooo excited to have this.  She even took it to school today:)  That makes me happy....
I had her sit at the counter and write something on the clipboard.  She wrote the sweetest letter to one of her friends!
Doesn't she have fabulous cursive writing???

Have a crafty week:)

Spring Burlap Wreath

I have wanted to make a wreath like this ever since I saw one like it on Tatertots and Jello.  Jen's blog is fabulous!  You have to check it out (if you haven't already!).  She is very talented and has soooo many fun crafts and tutorials!

I tweaked my wreath a little, but I pretty much did the same thing she did.  I used coordinating fabric, Burlap, and for the centers I used buttons and sticky back pearls.  I used one of those $.50 cent wreaths I got from Salvation Army (yay!), fabric and burlap I already had, buttons and pearls that I already had.  So this wreath cost me about $1 to make.  I LOVE that price;) It just gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling....

Here is my take of the Spring Burlap Wreath:
This probably took me about 1 hour to make.  I cut all the circles at once, folding the fabric over several times, so I could cut out about 4 at once.
Please excuse my ugly walls.  I soooo need to paint them and I am planning on it this summer!
I absolutely Luuuurve this fabric!  I have had it for a while but just never used it until now.

Hopefully now that ALL of my SPRING decorations are out, the weather will actually be warm enough to wear a short sleeved t-shirt!  I can tell it's coming....
Have a great week;)

Spring Flower Wall Art- My Take

You know I love going to Salvation Army when they have the 1/2 off sale.  I have a huge bag full of stuff that I haven't done anything with yet, but I am slowly working my way through it!

During Spring Break (which is over for us....SAD) I got creative and made a cute framed Flower Wall Art for my living room.  I didn't do a tutorial for you, because I can't totally take credit for it.  Alison over at Oopsey-Daisy did one too and I patterned mine after her fabulous looking one!  She did a great tutorial on her blog.

Instead of using Burlap for my background, I used a fabric quarter I got from Joann's 40% off!  I didn't sew on mine, and Alison did.  I was too lazy:) I painted spray painted my frame aqua blue.

Well, here she is.....Whatcha think????
I glued everything on with a glue gun.  I used a piece of cardboard from a cereal box for the backing.  I sprayed adhesive on the cardboard and attached the fabric.

I love how it brightens up my living room!

I start school tomorrow.  I am taking Math, Spanish, Health and a Running class!
I am going to be a busy woman, but hopefully I will still be able to have time for some crafting too!!

My take on a Fabric Rosette Burlap Wreath

The other night, I got in the mood.  Not THAT mood. The crafting mood!  I ended up crafting the whole evening!  It was soooo fun:)  Here is my version of this wreath that I know lots of bloggers have made.  I had to try it:

It was super easy!  I was really excited when I finished it.  You don't understand.  It's a big step that I actually finished it.  I am reallllly good at starting and not finishing.

I have a few other crafts to show you this week!  I can't wait.....
Have a great weekend!

I Heart You Valentine Flower Pot decor Tutorial

I couldn't wait any longer!  I had to come up with a cute Valentine decoration for my house.  I really like how it turned out.  I especially like the fact that I only used stuff that I had around my house and I didn't spend ANY moolah on it!

Isn't it lovely?  I love how it turned out!  It took me about 2 hours to make.  It's hard to tell, I would do some, then go do something else.  It didn't seem very long though!

Wanna know how to make it?  Here are the directions:

 Supplies:
1/8-1/4 yd of 2 coordinating fabrics
same amount of cotton batting
flower pot
3 sticks cut in different sizes
buttons- I used 6
ric rack
glue gun
Burlap- just enough for 3 small circles
white tissue paper
sewing machine (or you can sew it by hand)
paint- I used Americana and mixed Spa Blue and Salem Blue together
Green floral foam- just a little square block

First, you have to pick some cute material.  I chose MODA Basic Grey's Blush Fabric.  Super cute!  I love the colors.  For the heart shapes I googled heart templates and got tons of different sizes of hearts.  I chose 3 different sizes and printed them out, cut them out and used them to cut out my fabric hearts.

Here is what my flower pot looked like before.  Not too bad, but I have had it stored away for a long time and it was scratched. I wanted to paint it Robin egg blue to match with the fabric!

I didn't do this, but I should have painted the pot first, so it would have plenty of time to dry while you sew your 3 hearts.  I put 3 coats of paint on my pot.  Oh, and paint your 3 sticks!

Now, sew your hearts.  I cut out the batting a bit larger than the fabric hearts, so it stuck out a little from the edges, then I used pink and red thread to sew around the hearts.

Next, I cut short strips of large and small rick rack and got glued them on.  Then I glued 1 button on the end of 1 of the pieces of rick rack.  Don't burn your fingers!  That stuff is SUPER hot.

Now, here's where I kinda stopped taking pictures.  Sorry, I got really excited about posting this, I forgot to take the dang pictures!

When you get the hearts all done.  Hot glue the hearts onto the sticks. I also cut out a piece of fabric and glued it on the back to cover up the stick.

Cut out 3 small shapes of burlap, and fabric to glue on the pot.  I just randomly cut out my shapes to look kinda like posies (I know, they don't really look like posies).

After I cut out the shapes, I frayed the burlap a little, meaning pull out some of the burlap so it looks frayed on the edges (I hope that makes sense!).  Now glue the fabric shape on top of the burlap, then a cute little button on top of the fabric.  Glue each shape onto the pot.  I glued on 3.

Here is a close up of the burlap and fabric flowers.  I also sanded the flower pot a little around the edges and I like how the red came out from underneath, don't you?

Lastly, put the green floral foam in the pot.  I had to cut mine quite a bit to get it to fit.  Then I stuck my cute little hearts in randomly.  To cover the nice green foam, I cut strips of white tissue paper and wadded it up, then set it in the pot.

Here is a close up of the hearts.  Can you see the very small amount of snow we got overnight?  Yea, neither can I.  But it's there, promise:)

Now, display it so your friends and neighbors can see it and be jealous that you are so crafty!  Enjoy.

I know you have probably seen soooo much Subway Art out in Blog land, but I couldn't resist taking a picture of this one I framed and added some Burlap flowers with buttons!  I think it turned out cute.

I am giving this to a friend tonight.  We are going over there for dinner and I wanted to give her a little gift.  I just bought the frame at the Dollar Tree.  Here is where I got the cool download.  I already had the burlap and buttons laying around!  Here it is:

I hope Andrea likes it!  I think I might have to add some burlap to some of my framed art now.  It gives it a homespun kind of look, don't you think?

Pink and Black Chic Ornament- Tutorial

If you haven't entered the Scrapbook goodies Giveaway, click on "Current Giveaway" above to enter!

A few days ago, I saw some foam balls in my closet that I bought at the Dollar Tree a year or so ago.  I racked my brain for a cute ornament I could make with it.

I wanted to make an ornament that wasn't your traditional Green and Red, sooooo here is what I came up with!

Here's the list of supplies you will need:

-white foam balls (dollar tree!)
-Modge Podge (Michaels, Joanns, hobby lobby)
-fabric (ripped into 3/4 x 5 inches long (I like the ripped look)
-buttons
-ribbon
-glue gun

Sorry I didn't do step by step pictures, but this is such an easy craft.  Who needs pictures, right?

1. Cover the ball with strips of fabric coated with modge podge.  I wasn't real picky about whether the fabric was smoothed down.  I just wrapped it around the ball.  Do this with strips of fabric until you cover the whole ball.

2.  Let dry overnight. This is an important step.  It takes about 8-12 hrs to dry completely.

3.  Glue on coordinating buttons in random places.

4.  Glue a ribbon bow on top, with a coordinating ribbon for the loop.  I glued the loop under the bow.

5.  Your done!  Let it dry completely of course before you hang it on your tree.

I like how it turned out.  I wish I would  have used glossy Modge Podge, but it is still pretty!  Have fun with it!
