Graduate and Summer Projects revisited!

Hi All!  I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I have posted!  Where does the time go?  I am sitting here listening to some spiritually uplifting music and thought I would stop in and say hi!

Life has been a little crazy here.  We are approaching the end of the school year for my kiddos (and me!).  I have a daughter that is graduating from High School in 2 weeks.  Can you believe it?  I can't!  She was my first baby and it's so hard to believe she is going off to college in September.  I need to make the most of my time with her!!
Here is one of my favorite Senior pictures of her.  Isn't she beautiful?  She is such a sweet person and has such a desire to do what is right.  I Love her soooo much!!

Now, onto my latest creation.  I haven't done many crafts lately, but I was invited to a bridal shower the other day and had to come up with something.  I went to Target to do the gift registry thing, but the machines were out of order!

So the day of the bridal shower I realized I still didn't have a gift.  That's when an idea came to mind!  Here is what I came up with:

Cute, huh?  This couple is so dang adorable!  She loved this.

Does the monogram look familiar?  I got it off Groupdealz.  It was perfect for this gift!  Then I cut out the couples names and marriage date with my Cricut machine.

This was so simple to make!  I used a 2 x 6 piece of wood, scrapbook paper, modpodge and ribbon! I also stained the wood before I put the scrapbook paper on. The picture is from the couple's wedding announcement.

It probably cost me about $5!  What a great price for a wedding gift:)

Don't you think we should have bridal showers every 10 years after we are married?  I need some new stuff!

I love personalized gifts....don't you?

Have a fantastic weekend!

Keeping it Real {Sunday}

What a beautiful Sunday afternoon it is here in the Great Northwest!  I am so glad we are having some sunny days.  During the Spring here in Oregon we get a LOT of rain, so I am really enjoying the last couple of days!

Yesterday was such a fun day.  We celebrated my mother's 81st birthday!  I can't believe she is 81.  Where do the days go?  She is such an amazing woman.

I love this picture of my parents!  This was several years ago on New Years Eve.

This picture was taken in 2003 after they returned from a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Albania.

My father turns 81 on the 22nd of this month as well.

They are such amazing people.  I love them so much!  I am so grateful to them for their example to me.  I am so thankful that they adopted me 43 years ago!

Thanks Mom and Dad for being the best parents in the world!

I love you!!

Happy Birthday!!

Wood Block Picture display

Hi my friends!

I can't believe it's been almost a week since I have posted.  My classes this term have been kicking my booty!  It's been a bit of a challenge, but a good one!

I hope you are having a fabulous week:)

Like I said before, my posts will be a bit scarce for the next 10 weeks.  I feel bad about that, but I need to spend more time with my family and HOMEWORK!

I did want to stop in and post this lovely picture display I made the other day.

I got the idea from the Shanty 2 Chic girls here.

I wanted mine a little brighter and colorful, so I changed it up a little!

Love this sitting on my mantle!  This picture is of President Thomas S. Monson, prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  I think he is so cute:)

Last weekend we were able to hear from this man in General Conference!
So many wonderful talks were given.

Have a great rest of the week and I will be back soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by and supporting me.

Spring Projects {from the past}

Hello my friends!  It's Tuesday and school is already taking over my life!

I am taking 12 credits this term and I think it's going to be VERY crazy for the next 10 weeks!

I am sorry to say something has to not get as much of my attention and it can't be my family or school, so therefore, it will be the blog.

It kills me to be flaky, but I am need to get good grades and get done with school!

I hope you all understand.  You won't see much of me for a while.

oh, I am not going to disappear completely, but I won't be here everyday or even every other day.

I love you guys and you are such a support to me.  Thank you for all your sweet comments and for building me up!

You all are the best:)

Now, onto some past Spring projects that I thought I would share with you in case you have missed them!!

Easter Time Reversible Block!

Hi Friends!  This week went by too darn fast, huh?  Back to the real world of SCHOOL!

I am excited to take more Psychology and some Math.

Here is my last Spring Craft I worked on this week!

I love the cute little MDF board that you put the vinyl on.  Then I glued the MDF board to the block!  So easy!!

This is another craft kit from Thoughts in Vinyl.  This baby is on SALE right now for $8!  Can you believe how fantastic the prices are?!

This shipping is VERY reasonable as well.
And the thing I like about this craft the most is that it's reversible!!

Don't ya LOVE it?

I love the cute little kite!  Do you like the bright Spring  paper that I chose for this craft?

Isn't it AWESOME- You get 2 decorations for the price of 1!

I love how I am going to save SO much room in my storage closet because this is REVERSIBLE!!

If you look really close in these pictures, you can see the rain running down the window!  So sad, it rained just about all week.

Today has been pretty nice though.  At least the SUN came out!

Hope your having a FABULOUS Sunday!

Easter is on it's Way Bunny Craft!

Are you all ready for Easter?  Do you have your house all decorated?  I just got my decorations out a few days ago and decked the whole house out in pastels!

I have been crafting like a mad woman because Spring Break is just about over.  Spring term starts for me on Monday.  Man, I wish I just had 1 more week!

Here is what I have been working on.  Isn't she a cutie?

I also LOVE, LOVE the bird cage I got at Michael's last weekend!  Got it 50% off.  I had the bird's nest from last year, and my 10 yr. old added the little birdies:)

This craft is a Thoughts in Vinyl craft kit.  This particular kit is on SALE right now for $10!  What a deal!!

I put my own little twist on it by using Washi tape for the nose instead of the vinyl nose.  I also added a pretty Pink Tulle bow!  This was a super fast and Easy project!!

I am so proud of myself.  I opened up a new package of M & M's to use in this picture and I did not even eat one!  Aren't you proud of me??

I'll be back tomorrow with another adorable Spring/Easter Craft!

I am off to enjoy my last day of freedom for a few months!

Have a fabulous Day!

Keep Calm and Hop On - Vinyl Art

I have told you before about Thoughts in Vinyl, right?  Well, recently I have been a little obsessed with their craft kits and I bought a whole lot of them!!

Here is the most recent one I have put together:

Isn't she a cutie?

This one was super easy to put together!  I bought the vinyl only.
I simply put it on a frame I had laying around.  I also added some fun scrapbook paper for the background to spice it up a little!

Right now this is on SALE for only $3!!  Stop by Thoughts in Vinyl and check out their other kits as well.

Can you believe how quickly Easter will be here?  Have you decorated yet for the holiday?

Have a lovely evening:)

****I was not compensated for writing this post.  I just LOVE Thoughts in Vinyl and want to tell the whole world about it!!

Family Wood Blocks

Hello!

The sun is out and the kids are outside playing and here I am on the computer!  I just had to post this craft that I finished yesterday.

Please excuse the crappy pictures.  I let my older kids take my camera out of town (I know, what was I thinking!), so I had to use a really cheapo camera that my daughter should have taken with her, but instead she has my good camera, arrgh!!

I bought the vinyl like 3 years ago from a friend and it's just been sitting around.  Finally I got motivated to paint it!

For this set, I used coordinating Scrapbook paper and mod podged it on the blocks, except the long one.  I just painted that one of my favorite colors:  Americana- "Spa Blue."  The "Family" blocks I painted with Martha Stewart's "Wedding Cake."

I love the Spring colors, don't you?

I may give this one away, but it will be hard to part with it!

Hope your day is going great and that you have lots of Sun where you are!!

Wouldn't it be fun to have a hunger games PARTY?
